Hi All,
Im facing some problems with LSMW.
After transporting the profit center groups from client1 to client2, the profit center shown in KCH3 has a description >>no valid master record.
In order to input the profit center, i have to do it in KE51. For client1, i used LSMW recording and was successful. However, in client2, i used the same recording but got the error message Error when uploading file C:\etc.txt(Return Code = 6). I tried to input the profit center manually, and this works.
Does anyone have any idea why im having problems with LSMW?
Thanks...

Hi Justin,
There must be some other problem that i cant pinpoint.
I created a new LSMW object for profit center in client2 and it has the exact same problem.

Hi,
Please check your is located at "C:\etc.txt".
Most properly you lsmw file path is not correct.
Btw, how you transport your program frm client 1 to client 2?
You can transport your LSMW project by downloading it from LSMW tcode and upload the project back into another client.
Thanks.

Yes, my file is located at the said location.
Could it be that someone disabled the uploading function from frontend to sap client? Is that even possible?
Thanks for replying...

If u are Importing the LSMW from one client to another client then probs with LSMW only.
Y ---> bcos LSMW is client dependent
where -> step->Specify Files
What to do ---> re-create these steps in ur Imported LSMW
-->Specify Files
Assign Files,
Read Data,..........ETC.

No, I dont think so that someone can disable the uploading function, furthermore whats is the purpose of disable if for a data migration tool?

yes, I used the same LSMW object in client2 as did in client1 where it was originally created. It worked fine in client1.
I started from step7 - specify files.
However, when i got to step 9 - read data, I hit the error.

Hi Charlene,
Kindly check whether your source structure and source fields is available in your project, it may be due to missing fields or structures and it leads to a error in step 9.

Ic..
Did you have full access for LSMW object B_LSMW?
Maybe you can check with your basis person..theoritically, you need to have change, display and execute activities inside the object inside your SAP username profile.
