Logic for changing Development class of a program.

Hi All,

I have a requirement where I need to implement a logic for changing development class for a list of programs (Type 1, M & I).

Do we have any standard program ,FM or class to achieve this. I know we can change it manually one by one, but I want to automate this process.

Please help me out.

Hi,

You can use the table TADIR anf fetch the PGMID and OBJECT for the object name. Update the DEVCLASS with new class.

Do we have any way of updating TADIR table (I believe it's not recommended)? I came across one FM 'TR_TADIR_INTERFACE' but I'm not sure if its the right way.

Pranshu,

the function module supposed for changing the devclass of an object is TR_TADIR_INTERFACE.

For changing a decvlass assignment, call it, passing PGMID, OBJECT and OBJ_NAME, and the new DEVCLASS.

Additionally, you'll have to add the object's ADIR entry (e.g. LIMU ADIR R3TRPROGZZ_TEST) into a transport order, as there is no automatic transport of your change.

As suggested by Rüdiger, you can try with the function module 'TR_TADIR_INTERFACE' to update the new development class.

Hi, you can do such mass changes (but not automated changes) by using SE03 transaction -> Object directory.
