I have created a set of characteristics which I assign to each service line item in the sales order.

How do I link these characteristics to table VBAP?

Hi,

The exact technical solution will depend upon how you are using characteristics and your configuration. As an example take a look at this earlier post:

The characteristic data and values are stored in CABN and AUSP. You need an object number/internal chacteristic value to access the tables. Depending upon your configuration this link could be via something such as the material, customer or WBS.

David,

This is the scenario:

Example 1

Material Code = 123

Title = Training 1

Delivery Type = Classroom Learning

Language = English

Currency = USD

Example 2

Material Code = 123

Title = Training 2

Delivery Type = On Demand

Language = French

Currency = EUR

I used variant configuration:

I did the following:

1. Created a configurable material 123 with material type KMAT

2. Created a class1 with variant class 300

3. Created characteristics title, delivery type, language

4. Assigned values to each characteristic like titleu2026training 1 & 2, delivery typeu2026Classroom & on-demand and languageu2026.. English & French

5. No Pricing attached to table SDCOM, Field Name VKOND

I have to assign each combination of the above variant to a wbs element :

e.g:

Line item 1 in sales orderu2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026..Training 1 u2013 Classroom training u2013 Englishu2026u2026u2026u20262 LU X $1000 = $2000u2026u2026assigned to WBS element

Line item 2 in sales orderu2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026..Training 2 u2013 Classroom training u2013 Frenchu2026u2026u2026u2026.1 LU X $1200 = $2400u2026u2026assigned to WBS element

Line item 3 in sales orderu2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026..Training 3 u2013 On Demand training u2013 Englishu2026u2026u2026..2 LU X $2000 = $4000u2026u2026assigned to WBS element

Totalu2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026$8400

This is not pure variant configuration as there is no pricing to VA00

the process is working but for reporting

Hi,

If you are using WBS then try linking via the WBS master data table PRPS - use the WBS element PSPNR which is in VBAP.

salim check with FM: vc_i_getconfiguration

Just to summarize:

VBAP table will fetch a unique configuration number for each line item. use this configuration number in FM: vc_i_getconfiguration to get the data.

The report can be configured around the function module...

Thanks

David and Soumyaprakash.
