Hello,
I came across an article a while ago Jetform and i was wondering what benefit it offers over Adobe forms.
Please shed some light upon this topic & lets have a discussion!
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I had it in one of my past projects. The only advantage that I could see was it allowed multiple layouts with same datasource and set more easily without complex developments that might have to carried out in case of SAP adobe forms. This advantage is achieved via the jetform layout repository.
Its like you have two forms with same data but say two different layout in such a its a bit more flexible.
Cheers,

Thanks for the reply Arindam.
So, you are saying, Jetform is better than Adobe forms in all scenarios?

If i understand correctly, Jetforms(JF) are not integrated into the ABAP Workbench & this IMO is a disadvantage.
I have never worked on JF before; but the following questions come to my mind (read: after reading the document) -
So, you are saying, Jetform is better than Adobe forms in all scenarios?
I don't think that there can be a straight forward answer to this question

Hello
I guess, JFs are older than Adobe in perspective of SAP world, hence obviously the new technologies/tools are more compatibel, user/developer friendly, look & feel, secure, less resources/memory
I als didn't worked on JFs but worked on Adobe and i feel Adobe's are as i said more compatibel, user/developer friendly, look & feel, secure, EXCEPT as Mondal said the layout constarint for a datasource in question
But, in Adobe Interactive forms, you can put many in-built functions at form level via either JavaScript or FormCalc, hence no round trips to server, more performemce and Adobe is continously enhancing their products, like now they added post-it stick notes, direct email sedning
Hence i feel Adobe are far better than any other forms, JFs, Scripts, Smartforms
But, if its Interactive forms (not print forms), then company need to buy the licence based on # of forms they require,
Thank you

Hi,
I agree, JF is quite older version. We should not compare it with Adobe forms in SAP. Jetform is not designed specific to SAP. Jetform is platform independent, i.e. any applications (SAP or non-SAP) can generate outputs by sending spools(data stream) to JF server.
JF doesn't have interactive nature like SAP adobe forms. This is basically used for print, email, fax, etc.
