Issue with BAPI_CONTRACT_CREATE

I'm trying to create a contract by using bapi BAPI_CONTRACT_CREATE but I'm getting error message KI235: "Account & requires an assignment to a CO object". In the account table (BAPIMEOUTACCOUNT) following fields are filled:
GL_ACCOUNT

CO_AREA
PROFIT_CTR

Corresponding fields in accountx (BAPIMEOUTACCOUNTX) are filled with 'X' and fields ITEM_NO and SERIAL_NO have same value as in table account.

Anyone have any idea why this error occurrs?
