Hi
Just Got the new ADT in Eclipse working, but when ever I press F1 for help the sidepanael for the help displays error "Unable to access online help!"
I find this strange since I can easily connect to the system and browse code !
Any idea on what could be wrong here
Best Regards

Hi,
please check two things:
1. If you are using the AS ABAP trial backend please check if the HTTP service already has been configured correctly in the instance profile parameters.
2. Use transaction SICF to check whether the following service has been activated: /default_host/sap/bc/abap/docu. If not, please activate it.
Hope this helps to solve your issue,
Christopher

Hi
I'm not running on a Trial system
and after checking is T-code SICF, I believe both services are enabled
Testing docu service gives a web page to search
ABAP Keyword Documentation
Testing toolsdocu gives a page with the following text
Invalid request - no documentation requested
I did notice that my system does not have SNC, could that be a factor ?

Ok, if the docu service works nicely in your browser it's strange that it doesn't within ADT because it's exactly the same access pattern. SNC isn't required so this can't be the reason. If I can think of anything else I'll get back to you.

Hi
Is there any way of tracing / debugging what is causing this problem !
Regards.

Hi,
it seems, the boths HTTP services (docu and ToolsDocu) are actvated at the backend side.
Your results from testing via SICF are also fine.
So try again to access ABAP Language help from within the source editor in ADT via F1.

Hi
I have retried to virew the online help from with in ADT, but same results as before.
I did however find the following error message in eclipse error log.
com.sap.adt.communication.exceptions.SystemFailureException: System failure: "A character set conversion is not possible."
T-code ST22 reveals further info

Some More Info on this issue
By Activating tracing with in the Eclipse Gui I have now also been able to capture the following warning
[WARNING] [ABAP Help View] Could not resolve help URL for destination: "IPV_020_user_en_1 [client=020, language=EN, systemConfiguration=servername| null | null | USEREDIT | null | SNC_UNAVAILABLE | servername.domain.is | 00 | null | servername.domain.is | null | null | IPV | , user=USER]"

Hi again,
well, we need to reproduce that issue anyway.
Would you to create a support OSS message for the component BC-DWB-AIE and add the ST22 dump file as attachment, please.
Regards - Alfred
