Hi,
I want to convert IDOC (Invoice) to flatfile. Infact I want to ftp this flatfile..
I was wondering is there any way, I can convert IDoc to flatfile without going thro' XI or any other middleware tool. Just directly from SAP itself. Idoc to flatfile
Thanks in advance

Create a File port in transaction WE21 and use that port in the partner profile entry in WE20 for the IDOC being generated..
This will ensure that the IDOC is written out as a flat file with properties(name/location etc) as given in the file port....
Thanks,

Thanks a ton for the quick reply
I am creating file port with physical path set to one of my shared folder. But as soon as I hit "Access Test", it says the file can't be opened, though it has all the necessary authorization....
Any reason as per you?

Go to T-code: AL11.. And see that directory exist there or not? Other wise you have to create directory there.
Thanks

have you given a UNC path in "Directory" ? i think it will work only with windows servers...
What OS is your application system running on ?
Thanks,

I gave the unc as directory ....(
Server\Folder). It has all the required authorization, the OS is Windows.
Isn't it that AL11 tcode is needed to creat the logical directory. I am tryig to do the thing with Physical Directory. Is Logical Directory is kind of must here?
Thanks
