Hi,

They are the correspondence IDoc type for a given message type. It depends on your SAP version system that currently you use.

For examples:

IDoc Type - SAP Version.

ORDERS01 30A

ORDERS02 30E

ORDERS03 40A

ORDERS04 45A

ORDERS05 46A

In ORDERS.ORDERS03 orders is the message and orders03 is the Basic type

Hi Seshu,

Yes as Ferry has mentioned its used for different versions. It starts with ORDERS01 , ORDERS02 and so on.

SAP has provided backward compatibility. So you can use them to send idcos between systems on different versions.

What is the best way to laod data depends on various factors like how the data is available in the legasy system. How many records to be laoded, Whether it is a one time dataload or a regular activity. Whether data massaging is required or not.

There are std utilites like

LSMW

eCATT

IDOCS

BAPIS

DIrect input programs

to laod master data.

Generally LSMW and BAPIS are mostly used.
