Then how do I know what is the functionality of this FM without posting a quoestion in our forum ? I want to find things on my own as much as possible wit out seeking help from others . I feel that is a good way of learning .Please help on this.

This FM IDOC_READ_COMPLETELY is used to read the details of an IDOC. If you pass the IDOC number it will return the EDIDD and EDIDC of the IDOC.

Hi Vijay,
Sorry ... I moved your question to your own post.
Hi Ferry,
Though not relevant to this query please help me . I see you are the one who help many of the ABAPers with Idoc related doubts . Somehow this Idoc and ALE concept is a hardnut to me . I want to focus more on this and gain very good knowledge on this . Can you please provide me with any resources which will help me to learn these concepts vry well . I did not get a chance to work on this in real time so far. So I want to pactice as much as I can before some real time stuff comes to me .
Can you please help me?
I would suggest to take SAP courses for ALE and IDoc (if possible) which will give you a good and basic fundamental of the integration of ALE and IDoc. Then the next step you can start working on ALE and IDoc enhancement or break fix (just to get your feet wet). The more you work on these items, you will be familiar with the whole process end to end for inbound and outbound interfaces. Once you feel comfortable (knowing inside/outside) then you can start working on new development utilizing standard SAP or build own custom IDoc.
There are a lot of good book on ALE/IDoc development that can be used as guidance and references. For example, ALE/EDI and IDoc Technologies for SAP" By Arvind Nagpal. I heard about it but never buy one.
And don't forget about SDN Forum that also can be used as powerful resources for any doubt on technical and functional areas.
Hope this will help.

Hi Vijay,
Sure ... as usual
Again, you will build and gain the knowledge as you go along. Reading is good but practise and work on it will be the best experiences.
Cheers,
Ferry Lianto
