i want to create customized message type ZMATMAS1 and assign few fields of MARA to it.

you should be creating a reduced idoc based on MATMAS.

Please have a look into our rules of engagement. Copying material without giving a source is not acceptable. If material is available, then just post a link and give a short description why this material is the best to solve the problem. It's ok to cite SAP online documentation but give a source!

And stop fighting here in the forums! BTW: Points have been unassigned.

My response to the question, was a new IDoc message does not need to be created, just create a reduced IDoc and then to use the search functionality of this forum to see how to do it.

You have obviously provided cut and past information from a document which you have, which does not help. Simply tell them to search the forum. You are not adding value by simply providing that sort of information that has probably been provided before, word for word, by someone else.

Do you expect someone to read what you have provided and be able to create an IDoc from scratch.
