How to use Developer Key?

Hi Experts,

I have received a new id for SAP system and was not authorized to edit program. it used to display the message "You are not authorized to make changes(authorization object S_DEVELOP)", So i got the developer key from the basis guy. now when I am trying create Z program system is not asking me for the key access and showing the same above message... please tell me how use that key so that i able to create Z program

The message you are getting is not for the developer key, but for an authorization object.

Please contact your basis team to give you a developer access (authorizations).

PS: Verify the client/system that you are working on too. I hope you are not trying to develop your code in the quality/testing system.

Just goto SE38 ,enter program name starting with z* or Y* -> click on create.

Now you get pop up window -> enter key number here and press on continue.

Once you done these steps ,then you will able to create programs or tables hereafter witout enter developer key.
