How to update the Material classification view using direct input method?

Currently, one of the custom programs is calling RMDATIND internally to create material providing all material views details except material classification view details. Now the requirement is to update the material with classification data also, but SAP help is saying that this is not possible.

Is there any other way, if so please update me with some material.
