How to update text element in smartforms?

Hi Smartforms experts,

How to update text element in smartforms?

I tried to update the text element in the Editor but once I saved and activated it, the new text is not updated.

Am I missing any steps or anything?

Please advise.

Hi,

It seems that u have not pressed the changte button before updating the text element.Please try the following:

1. First go into the change mode in the smartform.
2. Now, select the text node that u want to change.
3. Press CTRL + A to select the text.
4. Press the chnage buton in the text editor.
5. make changes and save.Do not forget the set the paragraph format + Chararcter format.

Where is the change button in the text editor?

I can see the text I changed is there but when testing it doesn't come out.

Check whether you entered the new text in the appropriate style and format...

Hi SJANDRK,

Please use the button(highlighted in red) to go to text editor in edit mode as shown in screen-shot

Then click on Goto->Change editor

You will get the text and the style applied for that text

Here give the correct paragraph and character format for the text to be displayed

In above screen-shot, T1 is the paragraph format and C1 is the character format.

Go back and activate the Smart-form

Try this and let us know if any other details required.

Hi,

I was pointing towards the pencil button,which is third button from the right in your screen shot.Even if you find problem here then go the sapscript editor ,as shown by the reply from Gurulakshmi and make changes there.

Also I can envisage one more problem - maybe you are making changes correctly but the window size for the text is not enough to display it. can you increase the size of the window, or the widht of the line type of the template that you are using to display the text ?

Hi,

Enter tcode smartforms -> press F6 -> goto your text node -> change the text -> save and again activate.

I hope you are doing these steps, if yes.. then you are missing nothing.

Check for translations. May be you have maintained text for EN language and getting output with any other language than EN. Because of different output language the required will not display.

Try transations.

Hi,

Following screenshot gives you the direction if you cannot see the pencil icon(editor).

Click on the pencil and make some changes, Go back, save and activate.
