I am calling standard BAPI functions through RFC.
I have list of all the 1400+ functions of BAPI but I dont know what parameters every function expect. Is there a way to query information about any function call at runtime? For example there is function BAPI_SALESGROUP_GET_DETAIL. Is there a way to get/know/query the signature of this function at runtime? By the way, I am using .net connector.
Also, is there a place on SDN or anywhere on internet where I get detail description every BAPI function call including return type?
Thanks
Abbas

Use FM FUNCTION_IMPORT_INTERFACE to get any function signature. It is RFC enabled so no problem to use it externally.
For documentation if I don't have access to SAP, I am usually checking it [here|http://se37.com/Fmods/fg01.aspx]. Choose Continue as a Guest -> type Function Module you want documentation for and place cursor on Function Group box (otherwise it won't work) leaving it empty.

Marcin,
Perfect. Thats what I was looking for. Best part was that trick of keeping the cursor in Function Group Box. I have another question on same line.
I picked up a function BAPI_BPCONTACT_CHANGE and searched. It gave me name of parameters list like SENDER, TESTRUN, TEXT etc. From where I can get detail of these parameters? And also, how parameter of SAP translate to outside-world data types? They are just text of varying length or some structure?
Thank you very much.

If you need to know the type, the better would be refering [this|http://www.se80.co.uk/sapfms/b/bapi/bapi_bpcontact_change.htm]. As you can see most of them are of structure type ( bapi_... ). W/o access to SAP it will be hard for you to get each parameter exact type (components of structure) though.

In addition to what Marcin has mentioned, you can use the Class CL_FB_FUNCTION_UTILITY to get the Function module Information including its parameters. You can refer to this [Extracting Function Module Details using Class - CL_FB_FUNCTION_UTILITY|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/stage/ExtractingFunctionModuleDetailsusingClass-+CL_FB_FUNCTION_UTILITY] for more information.

Thank you guys. I am new in BAPI development so it took sometime to figure it out. Your answers helped.
Thanks
