how to create Text Tables

hi all,

i had a rewuirement to store 1200 char length in a field as comments.

i got some inputs as we can achieve it by using Text Tables concept ..

when ever i saved the text (comments of 1200 lenght) one reference code has to generate and it will act as the address of the comments and by referrign this reference number i have to read the data in INFOTYPES.

1) how to generate this referece code ( 32 length) dynamically ( unique for every user)?

2) how to create Text tables?

3) Whatr is the difference between text table and value tables?

please help me in this regard ..

Hi all,

I need to update longtext in QP01 Txn. I can do this by two methods 1) LSMW Direct i/p method 2) using create_text FM. which is the easier method ?

for first method can you people tel me the Object / Method / Program Name for qp01 txn

for second method can you people tel me how to find text id, name , object etc.....for my long text field .....

and my long text field can be found in Qp01 txn under Inspection characteristic tab ?
