Dear experts,
I'm a student and I've been trying to create a client-specific transaction variant for these 2 days but still haven't figured it out. This is what I did:
1. Create a transaction variant by using transaction SHD0
2. Create the transaction code for the transaction variant by using SE93 or SHD0 (by selecting Goto -> Create Transaction Variant)
3. In step 2, whenever I clear the "Cross-client" check box and then I click "Save", I always receive a message saying that the transaction variant I created before does not exist. However, if I check the "Cross-client" check box and then I click save, then the transaction will be successfully created.
How to correctly create a client-specific transaction variant?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Haris

Hi
SHDO --> Enter the name of the transaction and the transaction variant on the initial screen.
If you want to create a client-specific transaction variant, choose Goto ® Create Variant transaction variants to branch the client-specific transaction variant maintenance transaction.
Thanks,
Chandra

Dear Chandra,
I have tried you suggestion. This is what I did:
1. Go to SHD0
2. Type the transaction code that the transaction variant will apply to
3. Type the transaction variant name
4. Click the 'Create' button in the application toolbar
5. Go through the transaction & screen variant definition steps (where the screens of the transaction are displayed and the contents of its fields are recorded)
6. After screen and transaction variant has been defined, I went to the Goto -> Create transaction variant
7. The dialog box that prompts the user for the transaction code, short description & transaction type ('Program and screen', 'Program and selection screen', etc) appears. After I click 'Continue', the 'Change Variant Transaction' screen appears
8. In this screen I enter transaction text (short description), transaction name, transaction variant, GUI support, and I clear the 'Cross-client' check box
9. When I click 'Enter' in the above screen, I receive a warning message that says my transaction variant does not exist
Where did I do wrong in the above steps?

Haris
