How to add an authorization check to function modules

i have to apply the note 204817 and at one point request: An authorization check is added to the following function modules: /SDF/EWA_GET_UPDATE_ERRORS

could you help me?

Don't know which SAP version you are using.

In my sys, authority check is already part of the FM /SDF/EWA_GET_UPDATE_ERRORS. ( 204817 note was applied in my sys a few months back )

In yours, this authority check is not there but got added when you had applied the note 204817 but now you want to know which all users will be able to run this FM during run time ?

Get in touch with the security team to know, to which role is the authorisation object S_ADMI_FCD linked to.Then you can get that role assigned to the required users.

Seems to be a BASIS related FM, they will be able to figure out the required role if you share the authorisation object.

Mostly, there won't be any changes as the regular BASIS related profiles/roles will be able to accomodate this new change that was applied.

I suppose you ask for old note 2048127 - ST-PI ST-PI 740 SP02 or 2008_1_* SP12 Causes Short Dumps CALL_FUNCTION_NOT_REMOTE on SQL S... and not a very very old note like 204817 - Conversion of stat. key of cash security deposits?

I see checking on authorization object S_ADMI_FCD field vale SM21 happens in the FM

/SDF/SDCCN_AUTHORITY_CHECK and just checks admin authorizations. i don't think you need to worry on this much.
