Hi,

Already someone created Change request & modified the object. Now i need to do some modification in that program. I am trying to open that in Change mode. But it's not allowing me to do. How can i modify that object? Will i need to change the Owner of that change request?

Please help me.

Yes change the Owner of the object to your ID orr you can create a new task in the same request and add your changes.

Hope this helps.

With the request in some other user and just press change button in Se38 , it will prompt you for creating the new task or locking your changes in the same task. say yes for new task and enter meaningful description if it prompts.

Hope this helps.

Hi Subhashini,

Since you know the request ID, Type it in SE01 and if it is not transported (released) then you can modify the same. If the request ID is under the Modifiable Tree, then just click on the + button near the Request ID and change the user on the sub-request ID to the user you are editing from.

Hope this helps

Are you getting any pop up kind of thing.

try to add the request to your task list.

You don't have to change the owner to change an object. It will automatically ask you if you want to create a task within that existing open request.

The message you are getting is not related to this issue. The issue is with the original change request itself. There is something wrong with it. How does the change request look like? Is it released or open? What is the target system for the release? What development class is assigned to the program under question? Is it your development class?

Several questions, but I think we need to go one step at a time. Is this your custom program? Who holds the transport currently?

Hi,

If you know the transport the request number Go to transaction SE09 & enter F5. enter the Request ID number .

just highlight the request number & right click the mouse button you get drop down click ADD user if you want to add or you can aslo take the owner ship of that request.

Thanks

if it is a standard object it will not allow you to do any modifications with out the access key. If your requirement is to modify the standard object then copy it to Z object and do the changes.

No. You cannot change anything without changing the owner to your user ID.

did any one changed that before you trying to do that,

other than SAP. then you can add it to your work list.

while changing it self it will ask you to add it to your work list. but it seems like you are the one who is going to change the object first..

please confirm this.,..

(if previous person is SAP then use access key and modify it will ask for the request)

then directly change no need to think on that,

once you change it will ask you for the request.

create it (if it is released) or it will give pop up to add the request to work list.

enter the program name and give /H and now say change ,

see in debug mode what is it doing, what checks it is doing, from where the message coming..

check any authorization checks are done...

Hi,

As pointed out by Srinivas earlier, I think there is a problem with the Transport Request. Since the Request is not released, you can try to delete this program from the Object list of the transport in SE01 or SE09. It might give you a warning about deleting the locked object.. acknowledge it & delete the object from the task. If you are successful, see if you can change the Program now.
