header text screen in va02 dissappears when error message comes

hi,

i am in middle of an upgradation project from 4.6c to ecc 6.0 version and i am facing a peculiar problem.

in va02 , when i enter with a sales order and goto header texts, there is a date text type 'est. date of departure'. when i change this date format to an incorrect format and save it, i am getting the error message but the screen dissapears, where as in 4.6 c the screen remains.

kindly help with any suggestions.
