Hi All,
Is it possible to give the F3 Functin key to the button which i had created in the screen.
As i am not able to see the F3 function key in the GUI-STATUS also.
Is F3 function key is reserved as my client say no we can have F3 function key to the button created .
Thanks in advance

Hi Sunny,
I think it can be done, I tried at my end also.
In menu Painter Go to Change mode
From Menu <b>Utilities-></b>F Key Consistenecy ->
here you can freely assign/change the F3 which is resereved for BACK. you can unassign it here..

you cannot use F3 , its reserved
for you custom buttons/menu you can use the function keys mentioned under Freely Assigned Function Keys in gui-status maintenance screen

hi sunny ,
no its not possible to give f3 option as its sap standard reserved.
now ur options are standard bar back button is for F3.
now in the application tool bar if u want to perform the same operatiom u need to assign it to differnt command like f6 or ctrl 1 or any thing .
u can assign it to f3 but that will disable the standard back option .
if u r trying to do this in module pool prgram just try to handle it by
leave to screen no
leave to list processing
leave program
regards,
vikky.

HI
You can create up to five pushbuttons on the Application toolbar. These buttons on the Selection Screen toolbar are associated to specific function keys and are restricted to function keys 1 through 5.
The function key F3 is assigned for <b>Back one level</b> so u cant use this for the button which you created.
you can refer the following links for further documentation

HI Vijay,
I had tried the same but it's not working.
If for F1 i am assigning 'POST' , then when I go and press F1 the help for that field pops up.
Similarly with F3 .
Could you please send some sample code on the same , if you have as you said it works at your end.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Sunny,
i will explain how i did it.
First i create the status , and i assigned the Fcodes.
now for my button i gave F3 function key.
for that i proceeded like this..
From Menu Utilities->F key Consistency-> now i removed the BACK for F3 and assigned my own code to F3.
now i run the program, when i press F3 now it will behave what ever my button behaves.
it is working for me,...
