F3 Back function key

Former Member

Hi everybody,

I have a screen with 3 buttons attached to 3 standard function keys: F2, F4 and F3.

F2 and F4 function keys are assigned to functionality different from the standard one.

However, F3 should be the standard BACK functionality.

The problem is that in the status I can change the functionality for the reserved function keys F2 and F4, but, in that case, the F3 functionality does not work.

The screen is a rf screen without toolbar.

How to permit the standard for F3?

Thanks

Hi Alberto,

Even i am working on RF transactions. To assign F3 for some functionality, follows these steps:

1) Goto Menupainter SE41

2) Click of Function Keys, Standard toolbar will appear.

3) Enter the FUNCTION CODE of the functionality you want to assign to BACK button of standard toolbar.

4) Activate it

Thats all, done.

Now you can use F3 as shortcut for pushbutton BACK similar to LM* transactions ( I am working on LM07).

If you didnt understand, reply back. I will definitely help you.

Hi,

To add function keys to our interface, We must assign each function code a specific function key

In the R/3 System, there is a distinction between

Reserved function keys

Recommended function key settings

Freely assigned function keys

F3 is comes under the Reserved Function Keys, So we can't assign any other Functionality to F3 Function Key.

Pls Let me know if I am wrong.

Hi Harimanjesh,

1) Goto Menupainter SE41

2) Click of Function Keys, Standard toolbar will appear.

The problem is that Standard toolbar does not appear because the type of key assignment is Dialog Box.

Could I change this to screen without any problem? I dont want the menu bar in the screen.

Thanks!

3) Enter the FUNCTION CODE of the functionality you want to assign to BACK button of standard toolbar.

4) Activate it

Hi Alberto,

Why did u select key assignment as Dialog Box? Any reason.......

You better change it to Screen instead of Dialog box. You wont get any menubar, dont worry.

To change the key assignment from Dialog box to Screen, follow the steps:

1) In Menupainter SE41

2) Goto GOTO-> Attributes ->F key Settings

3) A popup window will come, there u change the type of key assignment from Dialog box to Screen.

4) Warning message will come, Dont worry. Just press Enter.

Dont mind to ask any questions.
