'External BP number' error while using BAPI_ISUPARTNER_CREATEFROMDATA

Hi,

We created a Customer with a custom BP grouping (ZBILL) using the BAPI, BAPI_ISUPARTNER_CREATEFROMDATA in ECC6 system. The customer number from the legacy system is stored in 'External BP Number' field.

Our requirement is to create another customer with a different BP grouping (ZNTF) linking to the same 'External BP Number'. But while creating the second Customer, the BAPI call is failed with error message 'Business partner <BP number> already exists in role MKK'.

While creating the second customer (ZNTF) with the same u2018External BP Numberu2019 using transaction FPP1, a warning pop-up was displayed but allowed to create the customer.

How can we avoid the error from the BAPI, BAPI_ISUPARTNER_CREATEFROMDATA ?
