I am getting this error in case of sales order.I know we can use transaction code SM13 to see the reason. But still even after making many changes the error still exists. Is there any specific reason why this error occurs?

Hi,
One of the reason could be that field symbol is not assigned properly. This must be a problem either in User Exit or some where in standard SAP.
During our system upgrade we got errors like this for many transactions and most of them were resolved by OSS note.
Search for the Oss note.
Hope you get some solution!!

Hi,
There are lots and lots of reasons why it could occur. Without seeing your system it is hard for someone else to guess what is wrong. Most likely there will be some code in a user exit causing problems. You need to investigate to find out exactly why the update failed and work back from there.

One thing is it is coming from a Update Function module.
So go to SM13 and find the Include or code line from where it is coming. Fix the issue accordingly.
Most of the cases it will come when you populate the data manually , i mean items (appending manually xvbap table).
are you implementing any user exits, if so check the population logic of the items, conditon records etc...
