Export length for string in WE31

Hi,

I am facing an unusual problem regarding export length in WE31. I have created a custom data element which is of String type. When I use this data element in WE31, the export length field shows the value as only 8. Does anyone faced similar scenario? I need to use a String type element in WE31. Please advise.

Hi

I think string is not possible in the segment, how did you define it. And one more thing, in the EDIDD, data field has only 1000 characters length. Please consider this also.
