Executing OpenSQL statement takes too long in SQL Console in Eclipse

Hi all,

Why is there a large discrepancy in time between server processing time of OpenSQL query and result retrieval, in SQL Console?

Very often I see that "server processing time" is couple of milliseconds, but I see results only after couple of minutes (five to ten).

Even if I deliberately make a syntax error I get the error message after 5 minutes. Crazy! 🙂

Is there a way to track where the bottleneck is? SM66 doesn't give me much.

No issue at my side (ADT 2109 / ABAP 7.52):

SELECT 
   VBAK~MANDT, 
   VBAK~VBELN,

    ON VBAK~VBELN = VBAP~VBELN
