Error when sending email from SAP

Hi All, I am getting the following error when I am trying to send out an email from SAP.

Message cannot be transferred to node SMTP due to connection error (final)

I have maintained the profile parameters, configured the SMTP node (default domain, mail host, port and "Node in Use"), background job is running, SMTP port 25 is open, no Antivirus/Firewall running on App. server, Open relay at OS level. Is there any other reason for this error?

hii avinash,

Have you checked transaction SCOT (node SMTP). Double-click on it and you should find the Mail Host and Port.

Yes, I did maintain the Mail host and Port numbers at SMTP node level already. I am getting the error even after configuring the node.

Hi,

From the SAP server can you telnet the e-mail SMTP server?

SAP and SMTP server are running on the same machine.

hii avinash,

Please check that the IP Address of your SAP system is populated on the Relay Agent of your SMTP Server

Check also in transaction SMICM, if SMTP is activated.

regards,

Shweta
