Error: System does not support Eclipse based ABAP Development Tools

When attempting to create a new ABAP Project in ADT, I get an error at the credentials screen.

"Logon to system ERD failed (System "ERD" does not support Eclipse based ABAP Development Tools)"

Perhaps someone can help shed some light on this.  Is there some additional configuration that must be done either on the client or backend?

Thanks

Luke

Hi Luke,

What is the ABAP release of the ERD system ? It must be at least 7.03/7.31 SP4.

You can find details on http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-29113

Hello colleagues, unfortunately I have the same problem and I was unable to find solution yet, because as I see, I have all the necessary prerequisites to make it work, ie,  SAP_BASIS and SAP_ABA - Release 731), Kernel release 720:

But I still getting the error from Eclipse IDE:

Any suggestions what could be the reason in this case?

Hi! Thanks for the useful answer!

How do you figured it out? Is this information shown in the column 'level'?

HI ,

My system has the following configuration .

Kernel Release is 720 . But still I am unable to login to the system.

Please let me know why this error is coming :

System "N73" does not support Eclipse based ABAP Development Tools.

Deepti

Hi Deepti,

Unfortunately, your system release is not supported by the ABAP development tools for Eclipse, because your system is based on SAP_BASIS 7.30. You will need a system that is based on at least SAP_BASIS 7.31 (support package leve 4).

Hi Luke,

We had the same issue (I know this post has been answered) but thought it may help others to include the solution we found.

If you are not on the correct basis release 7.03/7.31 SP4/7.4 but have the UI Addon installed you can use ABAP report /UI5/UI5_REPOSITORY_LOAD create a BSP "manually" - please check this documentation UI documentation - https://sapui5.netweaver.ondemand.com/sdk/#docs/guide/UI5BSPRepository.html
