Error in Table maintainenance while transporting to QAS

Hi Guys

after searching scn and the web for two days I am forced to post this as a question since business has put  a price on my head

I have made a 2 step table maint dialog for a custome table in the development system, did not change any data using that dialog and transported it to our quality server, there, when I go to SM30 and put the table maint. name and click display/maintain it throws an error saying;

Check maintenance object ZZCUSTOMT or upd

function group ZZCUSTOMT

Steps already done:

1. Deleted the FG in Dev, recreated a transport and resent it to QAS, same error in SM30.

2. Updated the navifation index in  QAS and reactivated the GS, same error in SM30.

Can some one please show me the way ?

Look at your transport request for the following objects

- R3TR FUGR <function group name> (else add manually or via SE37)

- R3TR TOBJ <table>S or <view name>V (else add manually or via SE54 or SOBJ)

1. Deleted the FG in Dev, recreated a transport and resent it to QAS, same error in SM30.

I hope you recreated the FG and updated the dialog maintenance via SE54 (does SM30 execute in DEV ?)

Hi,

First lets try to make an entry in dev system and if you are able to make it in dev, then its a transport issue. As Raymond said, check the those entries in transport. If you are facing any issues, then go to SE14 and try to adjust the table.

Check the created function group and version management of function group if required.

Hi Guys (Raymond/Lakshmi)

Tried everything but seems as if its a basis error, as in now when I run SM 30 in QAS it goes into a run time error saying 'internal table can not be extended furthur' , it has run out of roll area in table space. Since this table has 8 million records in QAS and 10 million in PROD I am not surprised. Just to check I created a dummy table with 10 recoreds, created a TMD and transported to QAS, it worked fine there.

Have already created a ticket with BASIS.

Using SM30 on such BIG table may be a not so good idea, if no delimiters are input in SM30 then  the whole table is loaded into memory, also only one user can maintain the table at once.
