Hello Friends,
After the report runs in the background it will create a spool file and it should send the spool as an email. The email is for a group of people and looks like they want it to set up through the distribution list.
What is it and how can this be done?
Madhu.

Go to transaction SBWP, here you can setup a distribution list by clicking the "Distribution Lists" button. you can then use this dList when setting up the background job via SM36, THere is a button labeled "Spool List Recipients", enter the dList name here.

Thanks Rich.
I went to Tcode SBWP. I created a sub folder named BACKGROUND in Shared folders.
When I click distribution lists and now I created the name which i would use in SM36 in the spool recipient list. But where would i specify the email IDs of the people that will receive the mail.

Is your system setup with your email server, check transaction SCOT to see if the emails are in the queue, if they are start the send process, but putting your cursor on the number, click the icon on the right(Start Send Process). If this is not configured, your basis people will need to get involved.

You can also use the TCode SOST to check the status of the emails..

THen I would say that sapconnect is not configured in your system. You need to configure sapconnect to talk to your mail server(example Exchange, Lotus). Your basis people should do this for you. ONce configured, then you will be able to force the mails as described above. In our system, we have a background job that runs every 5 minutes which calls the mentioned program and forces the emails to be sent automatically.
