Effort estimation of developments

Hi all,

Could anyone please provide me with some inputs or documents/ templates on Effort estimation of developments in ABAP??

I have done the initial analysis, but not sure what should be the base of measuring the complexity and time for an object?

How an object can be further divided and the total time be measured?

Also please let me know about the marginal timings and all...

Hi

First the know the complexity of the object.

Based on complexity only we can estimate the hours.

Generally for

simple - 5-6 days

Medium : 8-9 days

Complex : 15-18 days

This can vary from company to company.

Guidelines for complexity :

Tables,Transactions involved that is the scracth development or any developed object there for reference like that.

Hi,

First you should be in a position to decide how much time is needed for that development. then based on the time(in man Days) the object category will be decided.

For >= 2 mandays effort -say object is SIMPLE

between 2 to 4 mandays -say MEDIUM

above 4 mandays - COMPLEX

thi is just tentative estimation.
