Edit segment issue

Hi Experts,

Requirement is to add one field into a Z-segment in Msg type: ARTMAS, basic type: ZARTMAS_INB01, Segment name: Z1ZST_TIMBCP

After releasing the when trying to change the segment getting the error:

"Segment type Z1ZST_TIMBCP cannot be changed

    Message no. EA667

Diagnosis

Segment type Z1ZST_TIMBCP is flagged as generat

System Response

Generated segment types can only be displayed."

Is it because:  Kernal release version :640,   Segment release version: 620 ? and to add  another segment 'Z1ZST_TIMBCP1'  will solve my problem.

Is my understanding correct?

But i am NOT getting release error: "Error while resetting release of segment Z1PXXXX, Message no. EA259" -  thats the confusion.

if i am wrong:  Can anyone explain why i am not able to edit. how can i do this?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

jo

It is because the release has changed. In WE31 you have to click the 'add version' button, second from left.

Hi,

In WE31 screen, Edit->Cancel Release and now you will be able to edit the segment.

Now You can add more fields. Once added Edit-> Set Release the segment.

Hi Jowar,

No need to switch into change mode.

Directly you can select Edit-> Cancel Release in WE31 screen.
