Eclipse closes when connecting to SAP server with return code 1073741819

'java -version' output is as follows:

java version "17.0.2" 2022-01-18 LTS

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 17.0.2+8-LTS-86)

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 17.0.2+8-LTS-86, mixed mode, sharing)

I have an issue when creating an abap project. I am able to choose the system connection and enter the correct client and user (we use sso), but right after doing so, eclipse just closes with with the following error message. sometimes no error message.

hi vx380f ,

I post this as a comment bcz you might (that error with different number is very common..) find a better answer... I dont think eclipse 2022-3 is supported as you can see here in the prerequisite components

Lastly, did you follow any blogs to install eclipse and ADT or you just did try that out?

I followed this link Install ABAP Development Tools (ADT) and abapGit Plugin | Tutorials for SAP Developers.

It didnt really tell which version of eclipse...

Edit: still recieving the same issue after installing 2021-12

good that you are in 2021-12, now can you post same details that you screenshotted in the first time ?

do you have sapgui installed?

what's your op.sys and C++ details?

meanwhile my eclipse is not working anymore AH AH
