Eclipse ADT - Darkest Dark Theme Issue

Hello,

I'm using #ADT version 2020-12 (4.18.0) with Darkest Dark Theme and I have this annoying mismatch in the icon/text coloring.

thomasfiedler: do you know if this is an issue of #ADT itself or something related with the Darkest Dark Theme?

As you already know, I have the same issue on Eclipse 2020-09.

I try to change the Icon Color: White ...

I try with the Deep Black ...

I always have probleme with the Hierarchy Icon

Hi Sergio,

I talked with some of the experts here at SAP about the darkest dark theme. Overall we cannot recommend to use this theme together with the ADT tools. There are severe issues and strange effects in ADT together with the theme.

Do you think it is possible from the SAP Team to create a Dark theme compatible with ADT ?

If it is not possible, is it possible to know whitch theme is used by the SAP team ?

I'm with frdric.girod.

In fact, 80% of the developers I know off are using Darkest Dark because typically developers prefer that mood.

I would suggest that SAP takes advantage of the Darkest Dark and ensure ADT is compatible with it, otherwise, the community will appreciate a dedicated dark them for ADT, like we have for webIDE or BAS.

Dear Sérgio,

the "Darkest Dark" theme is not an official theme from Eclipse Foundation. It is know that it cause issues in lots of Eclipse application. As the theme is not open source we even cannot look into it to find out what the problem may be. ADT does not officially support this theme.

To anyone interested, it seems some people are using the Eclipse Spectrum Theme with success.

Issues are being addressed specifically for ADT like Missing styles for table borders and properties view background

Meanwhile, I have switched to the bright side of the force!
