E-invoicing solution approach for multiple countries

Hi Experts

I want to have more understanding on e-invoicing project. With the increase in e-invoicing from all the respected Government to send invoices onto their portal, it becomes very complicated to work along with their guide line to produce xml.

Currently I am working on a project where client have decided to buy a 3rd party tool/system to receive the invoice data from SAP ECC (country specific file or a standard file) and then tool will be responsible for sending out the invoice xml to Gov. approved format to respective portals and receive response and update SAP invoice with QR code or any messages which we may receive over it.

I am looking for integration options

1. idocs - outbound and inbound - will this be triggered when a billing is generated ? I mean SD output determination

2. 3rd party have an option of endpoint URL where we can post the XML file - can be triggered again from the billing driver routine during invoice creation

3. SFTP

I am looking forward with option 2, however just wanted to know your opinions whether would it be good solution for long run when more countries coming on board ? we donot use XI/PI or Gateway at the moment and not sure whether we need it or not for option 2 or option 1.

Also what can be done for house keeping i.e if super users want to monitor the status of invoices went out from SAP to 3rd party tool and what are the receiving messages on it etc. etc.

Any pointers and guidance will be helpful to make the better decision.

Hi Sanil

Your recommendation here is ideal however, my client don't use HANA at the moment and they are all set to use 3rd party tool and not SAP standard functionality for it so I am looking forward to provide an custom developed approach for data exchange between SAP and 3rd Party tool.

There are SAP Solution available for ECC as well. Please specify the countries, in case you want to use SAP Solutions based on SAP DRC or contact your SAP account executive on further details.
