Dynamic variant

hi all,

i created a report and that report has to be execute in back ground daily with variant,but my report contains some date field, so i need to change the date value in that varient,how can i do it.How can i create dynamic variant,could you please help me.

You can go and set the values in INITIALIZATION event.

first Clear all the variant and assign.

Hi Murali,

You can do this in the variant itself.

Please follow these steps

1. Enter the values in the selection screen

2. Save the variant using the SAVE button

3. In the next screen for the date variable select the 'Selection variable' checkbox (L) and click on the button 'Selection variable' in the toolbar.

4. Now you will see this variable in the next screen with 3 types of buttons. Click on the middle button (ie. D - Dynamic date calculation).

5. Click on the down arrow button and select the option 'Current Date'.

6. Save the variant.

Hi Murali,

For DATE fields set the checkbox SELECTION VARIABLE in attributes of variant . Then click on "Selection Variable" on application tool bar. In this screen select D - Dynamic date calcutaion. Press on "V" , you will get a lots of option to choose from.

Hi,

you can Create Dynamic Variant.

Below is the process. create variant as normal, in the variant screen under field attributes you can see selection variable just check the checkbox for your selection screen date parameter, then click on selection variable button on application toolbar. here you can see your selection screen date parameter just click on icon of buld under 'D' column. there you can see F4 help for your selection screen date parameter, from list of values just select the 'Current date'

Hello.

In the selection variables screen, how to i select "D - dynamic date calculation" ?? I only get to chose from "T". How do I change to "D"?
