I'm geting Short Dump when running transaction CG2B.

Runtime Error = STORAGE_FREE_FAILED

(Unable to release memory area).

Please give me the sol.

Solution

A kernel patch is available (patch comment: free after index resize for an internal table).
Note: The kernel patch specified here only has the effect that the actual runtime error TSV_TNEW_INDEX_NO_ROLL_MEMORY is no longer covered by the subsequent error STORAGE_FREE_FAILED. The actual error cause is a memory request that is too large for the index of the target table. The storage requirement for the index of the target table is proportional to the number of lines which should be inserted in the table. In particular on AS/400 platforms, the target table can therefore only contain a maximum of approximately 4 million lines.

Just have a look note# 148005 and 159616.

Kernel patch in Release 4.5B.

In Release 4.5A, the downwards compatible 4.5B kernel (with the corresponding patch level) must be imported.

it seems not an abap problem please give this solution to your basis person he will be able to look at this.
