I need to display text in my smart form and the contents of the text will be more than 256 chars. How to initialize the variable under global declarations.
i tried : text type string .. this only takes 256 chars
text type c length 1000 .. again this does not work
Also text is computed using concatenate so I have a small pool of data types I can use. If I could change length of string ... text type string length 1000 .. that would solve my problem but in smartforms in does not allow u to add lenth to string.
You cannot have more than 255 characters in a smartform, since the string in smartform displays only 255 characters. But, i guess you can do something like this.
&String(255)&&String+255(255)&&String+510(255)&
Never tries it myself,so not sure if it works or not. Just give it a try.
Create a new Dataelement in SE11 of type char and length 1000 and take that data type as reference while creating the variable in global definition of smartform.
