Diff b/w ABAP query n normal report

Hey folks,

This is an interview question, wat v need to answer for this.

V hav a ABAP query tool to create an simple report then y did u create a classical report?

So for this wat shud i answer........plz guys.

1. We cann't run ABAP query's in background.

we can run calssic report in background.

2.If u r report contains complicated calulations in that case we use classic reports.

3.If u r using more tables then query used to join these tabels.This is a performance issue.in that case we need to use classical reports.

4.Generally query used for few no. of database tables fetch with simple selections and display fields.query related to authorization restriciton to specific user by creating roles etc...

mandatory to specify the roles.

in case of classical reports it is not mandatory.

if u want to restrict then add the authorization group in attributes.

A classic report is a program that generates a single list, which must contain all of the required detail information.

1) This procedure may result in extensive lists from which the user has to pick the relevant data.

2) For background processing, this is the only possible method. After starting a background job, there is no way of influencing the program.

3) The desired selections must be made beforehand and the list must provide detailed information.

4) For dialog sessions, there are no such restrictions.

5) The user is present during the execution of the program and can control and manipulate the program flow directly.

6) To be able to use all advantages of the online environment, classical reporting was developed into interactive reporting.
