Description code list

Good day to all;

The query I have is the following, I am creating a pdf with Adobe Live Cycle, I have a list of codes, which are the type of document. When I place this field in the pdf, it returns the value of the list but not the description. Does anyone know if I can make it return the description and not the value in the pdf?
