HI

No ,As you said you are using the old DOMAIN only,Since you are replacing the old data element with the new one which is having the same technical attributes the only change you can find is if you are having any new Semantics Attributes.

Hi,

It will create problem if you miss to assign any of the table fields assign to the old one. So check where-used list first.

otherwise ther will be no problem with Technical or symatic attribute.

Anuroop,

yes obviously it will show you difference.

remember your discription is showing at data element.so may be if you use different data element but both have same domain than it will show you other discription.

Hi Anuroop,

No it will not create any problem. Because you are just changing the dataelement name but the technical attributes are same(because for the new dataelement also you are assigning the same domain). So only the semantic attributes are differerent from the first dataelement i.e Field lables, documentation and Description may be differ.

Hi Anuroop,

Yes you can do it. After replacing it by a new name just goto -->Utilities --> Database Utility --> Activate and Adjust Database

This will do fine.

Swapna.

HI,

Except field descriptions(If the Field labels are different) it won't cause any problem at data base level for table definition and data. remember these field descriptions not only comes in SE11/SE12/SE16/SE17. But also in the places where REUSE ALV fm is used to build field cat.

But make sure that u have replaced this data element in all places where ur old data element is used IF REQUIRED

Thanks,

Vinod.

Hi

good,

If you are changing the old data element name with the new data element name than I dont think there should be any problem, you may face the error while saving the database table, becuase you have changed the data element name for the field that you have declared in that table.

Thanks
