can we delete data element from an active table

Hi!

No, you can't delete a data element, until it is not removed from all table, where is is used.

Use the where used button to know this in SE11.

but data get lost in that table

you shouldnt even think about it

a dataelement itself has nothing much to do with a table.

a table has fields, and these might be declared of a type of a dataelement.

deleting a dataelement which is used in an active table, will lead to a Short dump next time the table/field will be used.

A Data element can be used by Many Table/Structure fields.

So it cannot be deleted in a Table.
