what is deference between customizing request and workbench request

well a customizing request is a request to customize something so that it runs in a certain way.

since not all wished system behaviour is fulfillable by customizing only, sometimes there are additional workbench requests, which are requests to CODE something in the workbench.

Cutomizing request is used for Functional Consultants and it is used for configuration.

And Workbench request is by technical consultants it will used to develop reports, smartforms,, scrpts. etc ( Not used for configuration).

<b>Customizing Request</b>

Changes to Customizing settings are recorded in Customizing requests.

When you release the requests, the current status of the recorded settings is exported, and can then be imported into the consolidation system and, if necessary, into subsequent delivery systems.

The client settings determine whether

changes to the Customizing settings are possible

the changes are recorded

When you create Customizing requests, the transport target is automatically assigned the standard transport layer by the SAP system.

<b>Workbench request</b>

Workbench requests record changes made to ABAP Workbench objects.

There are local and transportable Workbench requests. (Local Workbench requests have the target system <space>.)

The package of the object and the transport route settings in the Transport Management System determine whether changes are recorded in a local or a transportable Workbench request.

cust . request contains the configurations that are performed by functional consultants for reflecting into quality and production

where as workbench request contains the objects that are done by tech.people

hi krishna,

Customizign requests are the requests that are mainatined and used by the Functional People. All the configurations that are done by the Functional people would be stored in the customising requests, where as all the devlopments that are done by the technical people would be maintained in the workbench requests.

Hi,

When u change in standard object at that time it called customized request means screen , flow like that ......and workbench request is request for workbench objects like se38,se80 ,se37 se11 like that.

Also during transporting

Customizing Request is Client Dependent while

WorkBench Request is Client Independent
