cross application means transfer data sap to sap or sap to non sap or non sap to sap? plzz tell

Hi,

cross application means transfer data sap to sap and also sap to non sap .

also it means transfer data between two clients or different servers...

Cross-Application Components (CA)

An object that refers to all data objects (tables, entities or processes) that relate to more than one business application.

Examples of cross-application components are ALE and Workflow.

Other examples are: CATS, Data Archiving, Document Management, etc.

Hello Srinath,

Cross application means transfer of data between SAP to SAP or SAP to Legacy system.

we can use cross applications for

SAP to SAP server or

with in a SAP server between 2 clients or

SAP to LEGACY SYSTEM ( NON SAP ).

Cross Application Concepts are:

1. ALE - Application Link Enabling

2. IDOC - Intermediate Document

3. RFC - Remote Function Call

4. EDI - Electronic Data Interchange

5. BAPI - Business Application Programming Interface

6. Workflow.

Which of these 6 can be used for data transfer between 2 SAP Clients?? I got a requirement to transfer data from one client to another client. Thank you in advance....
