Creating notification using equipment and material

Hi,

I need to create the notification using equipment and material programmatically using BAPI's .

The BAPI's I tried to create notification is BAPI_ALM_NOTIF_CREATE and ALM_PM_MAINTNOT_CREATE

I have passed the notification type, equipment number and material number to the BAPI's considering that these are the mandatory fields for BAPI but the notification number is not generated from either of them.

Please suggest me the way to use these BAPI's in a correct way i.e. what are the mandatory fields to be passed to BAPI's in order to create the notification or suggest me any other way to create notifications.

Hi Arun,

Thanks for the link. On checking the details, I found the notification got created after creating the order number and passing the same to the BAPI.

But, my requirement is to create a notification number without order. I am having the equipment and material details in my hand and using that I have to create a notification.

Is there any way around ?
