creating ecatt for roles

hey guys

When we create an ecatt for rename roles ,are the objects also copied too .what I mean is do I need to maintain the objects again while creating the profiles or can the it is not required.

No need to maintain the objects again. Just generating profiles will do.

When you use ecatt to copy roles , all the role description, role menu, authorizations are copied. However, you have to generate the profile manually or you could as well include that part in your catt script. Also, you might need to change the role description part. Again, you can include that part too in your script.

Hi Jadhav,

no needs to maintain any object

just create the script for Rename of roles once the script executed correctely with out any errors

you needs to generate the profile in PFCG

you can do the mass generation from T-code SUPC it make you the job easy

Instead of ECAT look at LSMW as i find it easier to use for role creation and copying
