Hi,

I want to develop a count down timer, in the Statusbar. Is it possible to develop one in ABAP. If so is there any function module, to display the countdown timer in the status bar.

Thanks in advance.

Arun Krishna.

What kind of dump?

I looked at that FM. Making it dump would be pretty hard to do.

this is the dump:

An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.

The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_DYN_CALL_ILLEGAL_TYPE', was

not caught and

therefore caused a runtime error.

The reason for the exception is: The call to the function module "BORGR_TIMER" is incorrect: The function module interface allows you to specify only fields of a particular type under "I_WAIT". The field "P_TIME" specified here is a different field type .

w to correct the error

If the error occurred in your own ABAP program or in an SAP

program you modified, try to remove the error.

...

ormation on where terminated

Termination occurred in the ABAP program "Z_TIMER" - in "START-OF-SELECTION".

The main program was "Z_TIMER ".

In the source code you have the termination point in line 19

of the (Include) program "Z_TIMER".

report z_timer no standard page heading..

data: var1 type sy-uzeit.

data: begin of itab occurs 0,

full_time type n,

Just read the dump. It's telling you exactly what the problem is.

Just to help, I've highlighted the relevant part, and removed some of the irrelevant part for you.

Can you see the problem yet?

Posting just links, and/or posting a reply that's identical to the previous one doesn't add value.

Hi MATT,

Nice to see you.....

I know there is no meaning in posting same replies but sometimes network takes time to update the post that we send , and by that time some one else sent that reply (might be due to faster network) and replies become same , not our mistake.

And even if the two posts match sometime , it gives a more confidence to the person to follow it. Isn't it.

I hope its understandable.

As far as posting links is concerned,

People do not search on SDN and post the question , or they might not be aware of how to search , but that doesn't mean that we should not help them(that is what I think... ).

I hope its understandable.

Uma Dave

You can help them rather than posting links or handing them a ready made solution by asking them to search. Anyone who can't or doesn't want to use Google search shouldn't be in the programming business.

That point of view is understandable, even commendable. However, this has been discussed at length already, and the consensus has been reached: please do not make posts that just contain links. Regarding posts containing substantially the same answer. If there is a five minute gap, then there isn't an issue (except with the network). If there is a 20 minute gap, then the second post may well be rejected.

If you wish to discuss further - and we're always open to discussion - then please take it to the suggestions and comments section. You should also work your way through the various threads where this has already been discussed.

Thank you

Guys .. Good to hear from you All.

If we post the links , behind that as well we need to take some efforts , links are not readily available with us as well. We search and then select the exact once and post them. This all is done in order to help some one who either might not be efficient in searching(which really doesn't mean to not be in programming) or mostly would be running short of time.

Anyways your points are considered.

No further discussions needed , as its understood.

Uma Dave

Ok.. let me modify what Rob had to say,

Anyone who can't or doesn't want to use Google search shouldn't be in the programming business use an internet forum and make a fool of themselves.

The simple question here is, why do you have to search for a link which the OP himself can search? Why do you have to contribute to the noise-level in the forums. Do you even realise how difficult it is to search for the right information here in the forums, because of repeat questions (and answers)? By providing links to every lazy soul in the world, you are choking the SCN servers with redundant information. Your aim should be to help those who are ready to help themselves.

And seriously, if one really cant use Google, he or she is not fit to be a programmer!

Okey Kishan ,

I totally understand this.

But its very painful to see our replies getting deleted without making us aware.

They have been written by getting some extra efforts and time as well.

But you are right about redundancy.

Uma Dave

If a post is rejected, you get an email. If you ignore those emails, then it's your fault you wasted time. If the breach was one specified in the rules (which, admittedly, doesn't contain all possible kinds of breach), then it's even more your fault.

And when you consider wasted time, think about how much time we moderators have to spend keeping the forums clean from people who won't follow moderator guidance, or won't keep to the rules, or won't even read the rules, or post FAQs, or easily searchable questions! On some days I've spent two unpaid hours sorting out the forums after a sudden influx of newbies, who, apparently, have problems reading. You know the moderators are unpaid volunteers, don't you?

I'd rather be answering questions than moderating. But if someone doesn't moderate you get a stinking chaos.

@UmaDave - people who try to help others (like you do) are the heart and sould of the community. So don't get discouraged; just bear in mind the guidelines and you will totally enjoy your time here.

Okey Matt.

Then there is a problem with my receiving id , as I never get reply in my account for any thing from SDN.

I tried updating my id here as the account id which I had mentioned initially is no more exist now. And SDN when i try to change my Id it asks me for the password which i am not remembering and the account id is not existing . I have been continuously looking to get some resolution on this deadlock. If you could please help in this.

To summarize

1.The id which i have given at the time of SDN registration is no more exist

2.I am not remembering the password to login to sdn

3.I want to change the email id to newer existing email account of mine.

Uma Dave
