commit work - difference between explicit one and implicit one

Hi,

at the end of every program a commit work is done to close all LUWs. But there must be a difference between this implicit one and an explitly written commit work in the code. Only if i'm doing the last my emails created by bcs objects are sent - otherwise they seemed to be disappear.

So what is the exact differnce between an implict and an explicit commit work, and which of those dieffwerences is responsible for sending the mail?
