yah , as i told u for every field it will sum except char field and date filed.

Collect will work :

suppose u have three fileds : MATNR DATE MENGE

000001 01-01-2008 10.000

000002 01-01-2008 10.000

000001 01-01-2008 10.000

000003 01-01-2008 10.000

000003 01-01-2008 10.000

000001 01-01-2008 10.000

000002 01-01-2008 10.000

When u will use collect .

MATNR and DATE are char and Date types.

and MENGE is Quantity field.

so whenever MATNR and DATE will same , MENGE will SUM.

so o/p will be

: MATNR DATE MENGE

000001 01-01-2008 30.000

000002 01-01-2008 20.000

000003 01-01-2008 20.000
