Closing Notifications ???

Hello, my name is Mark and I work in a Chemical plant in Louisiana. I am very new to SAP and I have a question:

I need to TECO work orders in SAP but in order to do that I first need to close notifications under that work order. Can someone explain the steps to do this?

Here is what I'm doing now, but not aware if it is correct:

go to IW32 - Change Order

type in work order number (then click enter of course)

click the "I" icon and put status at MCMP Maintenance Complete

click back arrow

click on checkered flag

<This routine usually TECO's the work order but its not happening..whats happening is this>:

then a window pops up and says the following: "Work order cannot be set to TECO if notification status is not NOCO

Please close notification = (then whatever the notification number is, shows up here)

I close that window

Click on "complete business"

another window pops up with a date and time and check box already checked "complete notifications"

I check the green check to accept the completion

It automatically brings me back to the screen where i type in the work order number...so I type it in again which brings me BACK to the main screen where all this is taking place and the work order is now in CLOSED status.

Can someone please tell me if this is correct or not? I have to TECO the work orders, not CLOSE them...I know there is a difference between teco'ing and closing.

I'm totally confused.

Anyone care to enlighten me?!

Mark

hhmmm....i went to the QM11 but it brings me to a screen where i need to fill in some data, and the data required is unknown to me...i filled out the date range and a notification number thinking that would bring me to the notification but I got a zero result.

Right now im going to IW22 and "completing" the notification from there, but if theres a way to do alot at one time i'd like to know that!..that would be really helpful!

Use IW28. You can search by equipment, material, notification type and/or notification date then when you get a list of notifications you can select the ones to close then go to Notification-->Complete.
