classification characteristics values related

Hi Guys,

In classification, there is one class called 'Material_route'. for that class they maintain one characteristics called 'pallet pattern'. For this characteristics they have maintained some values, 'A' -> Auto Generate, 'B' --> Manual, bank --> not Required, blank --> no entry.

Now, My question is whenever i try to upload the characteristics value as blank, 'Not required' option is being selected. How do i can select the 'No entry' option.

Note: if via transaction means it can selected by using F4 as it gives radio button to choose. But i am trying to upload using BAPI.

Hi ,

which BAPI u are using ,anyhow for each char attributes it will have a unique object id , u need to know that one , so based on that value u can pass data into it.

check table AUSP as a ref.table.

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes you are correct. each values has unique Id. the values are maintained in CAWN for all possible values for a characteristics. in that table they have maintained 'blank' as 'not required'. but in characteristics field, when i press F4 i am getting one more option that 'No entry' as 'blank'. for refrence goto c203 transaction in change mode. then give material and plant then --> Recipe header --> classification. here you will get characteritics with values. press F4 for any one of characteristics. you will be getting two radio button with same value 'blank' that 'No entry' and 'Not required'.

u mean for both Not Required and No entry are both maintained as BLANK !!!!

Hi Suresh,

All the Classification data and its related texts are available in the tables KLAH, KSSK, KSML, SWOR, AUSP.

here we give materaial no as input for OBJEK in KSSK. the you wil get CLINT by which you will get all th remaining data.

Look at the tables and its fields by which fields got which data,

By looking into the fields clearly you can understand which value in the table (I Mean to the bapi Table) need to be updated.

No entry is an option that is automatically added in the F4 help to specify that you are not giving any input for that characteristic.

If not required is specified as a blank then it means that in the F4 display the two options Not required and No entry is same...so u can carry on with the same code.If the entry s blank,then it should be Not Required only

Thanks for your response. But i want to set 'No entry'. actually i am going to change the characteristic vlaues. Now it is in 'Not required'. But i want it set to 'No entry'. How to do that one?

for dat just remove the characteristic Not Required from the concerned class
